Our Emotions are Songs that No One Listen

The songs of birds became the white noise of our everyday life, a language that we cannot understand anymore. Birds are threatened of disappearance in cities because of sound pollution. It becomes urgent to listen to birds more carefully even if we don’t understand them.
I created a sound composition with distorded and slowed down sounds of birds, to trigger the ears and attention of the listeners. An accelerated voice, mimicking the sounds of birds, aims to recreate the sensation of hearing, almost understanding some words. The more the ears feels like they understand, the more they keep on listening, as if enchanted/attracted by an irresistible desire of understanding.

A listening journal was distributed to the listeners, which actively contributed in the research by drawing and mapping melodies of the birds and their appeasing effect on the human body.
