About.
Marie Yevkiné Tirard is a musician/voice/visual artist, mediator and writer, fascinated by phenomena of emotional resonance. She works as a mediator for cultural institutions, graphic designer and research-based artist. She combines various types of mediums (poetry, music, story-telling, textile, moving images, analog photography)… While music is at the heart of her work as medium that activates deep listening, she likes to create total, synaesthetic experiences, sometimes inviting audience participation. Her work aims to enchant in a poetical way, in order to reconstruct lost listening relationships, whether with more-than-human species (birds, plants), ancient folk traditions and non-western musical improvisation practices. She reflects on themes such as collective memory, ancestral heritage, dreamt realities and the resonance of mnemonic instruments (lullabies, oral tales, archives, music, scores, weavings, etc.).
