The Songs of Trembling Weavings

This short fiction follows the quest of Ani, a musician, collector and listener, who researches about the (almost) forgotten melodies and musical knowledge of her ancestors.
Travelling between past, present and future, through dreams and daydreams, she meets a nomadic troubadour improvising with a carpet weaver, in dialogue with nature.

The story philosophically questions how to preserve the heritage of endangered cultures, questioning from which mnemonic mediums and technologies they can take life. It poetically examines embodied knowledges, improvisation, textile and oral memory, alongside a critique of sterile Western technologies. The trans-disciplinary art of the troubadours (music, dance, poetry, theatre, etc.) weaves intercultural links.
